3 Division G, District 42 2014-2015 January Report Club Officer Training

4 www.toastmasters.org Themes in Club Officer Training  Low Turnout Thus Far Good and bad: Lots of opportunities in Calgary, spread between Divisions C, G, J and K  Outside of Calgary All three areas – G35, G36, G38 Area Governors are planning their own COTs. Division Governor planning on attending the joint G36/G38 in Lethbridge Update on COT Numbers

6 www.toastmasters.org  Number of clubs with officers trained:  5 out of 30  Number of officers trained:  Only 10 of 210 club officers have been trained  This is only 4% of Division A club officers trained  Of these trained officers 4 of them are from the Coal Steam Ahead Toastmasters club, which means that one out of 30 clubs in Division A has met the minimum requirement for trained officers for round two COT Division A – Current COT Status

7 www.toastmasters.org  Club Officer Training in St. Albert on Saturday January 17  TLI in Edmonton at NAIT on Saturday January 31  Mini conference in Grand Prairie on February 21st  Promoting Division D and F COT events to Division A clubs  Reviewing the COT results at the beginning of February and planning additional training as needed  Will consider sending people to remote clubs for training club officers who are unable to attend scheduled training events Division A – Getting to 100% Officers Trained

9 www.toastmasters.org December 8 th J45 Governor visited club in Canmore to present training December 13 th, officer training and education sessions, 50 attendees J48 presenting a session on Membership at noon January 24 th, officer training and education sessions Participation in the 3 other division sp9oinsored events Division J – Current Status

10 www.toastmasters.org Email contact to Presidents 3 weeks prior Email contact to all officers by role, 2 weeks prior Review the club status after all division events, February 8 th Develop plan with area governors to reach those not trained. These may be special area events, or events for specific roles. Strategies

13 www.toastmasters.org  Plan to get all club officers trained  Encourage them to attend one of five offerings in Calgary  One Area Governor has an HPL to get all her clubs to Distinguished  One COT offering placed in the Area close to the clubs for convenience  Offer in-club officer training (don’t offer until the five offerings done)  Offer one-on-one training as the last resort Division C – aDDVANCe Team

15 www.toastmasters.org Red Deer; -January 24. - Venue still being worked out. Possible Red Deer College, downtown campus. -Anticipated attendance 25 – 30. -Trainers still needed. Calgary; -February 7, 9:30 – 12:00. Registration at 9 AM. -Anticipated attendance. 15 possibles so far. -Only 3 of those are survey registrations, as of Thursday morning. -I expect there will be more as the date gets closer -Still seeking a number of trainers. Most roles still need to be filled. Division K, COT

16 www.toastmasters.org Some Corporate clubs have asked for noon hour training. Will attempt to accommodate on a club by club basis. Others who are unable to attend any of the training sessions offered will be trained either one on one or club by club as appropriate. Div K, Strategies
