Tuesday 4/28 A- day Wednesday 4/29 B-day Warm Up Sidewalk Chalk Poetry! Poetry Activity

Warm Up Tell me how you feel about poetry? Do you like to study it? Do you like to write? Is it the bane of your existence? WHY?? Make sure you have your poem ready to take outside! (HINT if you don’t find one NOW)

Sidewalk Chalk We will be staying together in the same area If you begin to act in a way that is not appropriate you will be asked to go back inside and complete an alternative assignment Share the chalk! Have FUN!

Zip Ode An ode is a poem written about something, it is positive and usually praising of it’s subject Today we are going to write Zip Odes that will be celebrating our school and area that we live in

First we will use the zip code for JML 20152 You write the zip code down the side of your page. The number on that line determines how many words you put on that line. 2 (2words) Lunsford Middle 0 (no words) 1 (1 word) Outstanding 5 (5 words) A strong community of learners 2 (2 words) Always striving Your poem should be about this area, it can be about school, or the neighborhood, or something more specific within this area.

Now let’s try your home zip code! If it is the same as Lunsford’s then just change the words, make it about your house, or your bedroom. Make sure to keep it positive!
