Skills to put in your routine
4
Group Routines Group routine is all team members performing a routine together synchronised. It is easier to use the more basic tricks for this routine When everyone is in time, it looks effective Make sure the music you use has a good beat Please see links below to show examples of group routines. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e2U1D9Zq0Aw (Time - 0:00– 0:55) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wX515WouVD8&list=UUjrAFaB5RJy8mokA6X4unwQ (Time - 0:18 – 0:37)

Long Rope Long Rope is a great skill for a performance routine as it is easy to do but effective for the audience to watch There are many types of long rope skills. For example: The Box, Texas Star, Rainbow, Triple Dutch, General Games You could have anything from 3 members of the group to all of the group participating in this skill Please see links below to show examples of Long Rope https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cbgqWxz3zmQ (Time - 0:38 -3:45) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FH0BbzgzhHE (Time - 3:47 – 4:03)

Traveller This skill looks great at the end of a performance or to split up a group performance into a single rope You can use from 3 people to the whole group for this skill The traveller always looks great when it goes to the beat of the music Please see links below to show examples of Traveller https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nodOH8yJheE&list=UUjrAFaB5RJy8mok A6X4unwQ (Time - 2:37 – 2:52) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cDDejSFtKFo (Time – 3:32 – 3:58)

Double Dutch Whether it be just 3 people doing double dutch, or a group double dutch, it’s a great skill to put into your festival routine. If you have a group doing double dutch, keep the tricks basic and less likely to miss You could always have two turners (maybe older members of the group) turn the ropes for all the younger member. Please see links below to show examples of Traveller https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tB7sJJGPDnY (2:08-2:50) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fouzmv1EK- g&list=UUjrAFaB5RJy8mokA6X4unwQ (2:58-3:56)

Single Rope Single Rope Routines are great fillers to have during your demonstration. You can have just one person performing some of their best tricks or a few people performing in sync. This is a chance to show off more skilful tricks in your demonstration. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jcOO4lGmm- s&list=UUjrAFaB5RJy8mokA6X4unwQ (0:38-1:01)
