What do you mean by CNE? 0 Contact Hour 0 American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) 0 Continuing Education Unit 0 International Association for Continuing Education and Training (IACET)

0 "Contact Hour" is the term used by the ANCC to define a unit of nursing continuing education in nursing. A contact hour for all courses accredited on or after January 1, 2007 is defined as: “60 minutes of an organized learning activity, which is either a didactic or clinical experience.“ To estimate the number of contact hours for an educational activity, total the minutes spent in didactic or clinical experience and evaluating the activity and divide by 60. For example, 60 minutes = 1 CH, 150 minutes = 2.5 CH, etc.

0 A CEU is 10 contact hours of participation in an organized continuing education experience under responsible sponsorship, capable direction, and qualified instruction. 0 IACET is the founder and guardian of the CEU and determines the criteria for awarding CEUs.
