Extension Activity: Creating an Persuasive Argument Watch the clip from Finding Nemo, and respond to the argumentative prompt in a well-structured paragraph. Opening Scene with Marlon and Coral Prompt: Was Coral right to try to save her children? Support your claim with background evidence and persuasive appeals.

Extension Activity: Using Word Inferences to Create Tone Watch the clip from Finding Nemo, and use it as inspiration to create either a short story, poem, OR cartoon strip with captions. Opening Scene with Marlon and Coral Requirements: Use sensory detail (written or drawn) to establish setting and characters. Incorporate all six roots somewhere in your piece and use language choices that build a specific tone. Think about each word’s connotation and its effect on the overall tone as you write. The length and style are up to you, but it must be based off of the Finding Nemo clip you watch. You are simply retelling the story in a new genre or format of writing.
