Flat/Static Characters Are minor characters in a work of fiction Do not undergo substantial change or growth in the course of a story Serve the purpose usually of humor Circumstances and events do not seem to change or develop them Flat things don’t require much time to build or study. They don’t change direction and are quite simple.
