Premium Product Matthew 7:13–20 13 “Enter by the narrow gate. For the gate is wide and the way is easy that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many. 14 For the gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life, and those who find it are few. 15 “Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves. 16 You will recognize them by their fruits. Are grapes gathered from thornbushes, or figs from thistles?

Premium Product Matthew 7:13–20 17 So, every healthy tree bears good fruit, but the diseased tree bears bad fruit. 18 A healthy tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a diseased tree bear good fruit. 19 Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 20 Thus you will recognize them by their fruits.

Gates and Roads The wide gate with the easy road speaks of the masses that will not ever try to walk with Jesus. They are more content with their own way of salvation. The narrow gate with the hard road is less traveled because it takes a commitment to Christ that goes beyond the trials of this life.

Views of the Narrow Gate

Bearing Fruit False teachers can be found even in the hard path that leads to the narrow gate of life. We must be on guard for these false teachers and teachings. We can tell false teachers by their fruit, by the things they produce, like teaching, behavior, actions, speech and attitudes. False teachers have the goal of keeping you from the narrow gate.
10
Discerning False Teachers 1.Seek clarity from the teacher about their teaching. 2.Present your reasons for believing their teaching is false and allow time for them to respond. 3.Test everything that is taught, comparing it with Scripture and the Spirit and the saints. 4.Ignore and denounce false teachers so that they may not destroy the flock.

Key of the Kingdom The first two verses talk about our walk toward eternal salvation in Heaven or eternal condemnation in Hell. While we are on this journey, we must beware of false prophets and teachers that work for Satan rather than for God. Let us use wisdom and discernment and the resources at our disposal to avoid error and focus on Christ!
