The conditions in which research is taking place Range of audiences: wider public and specific field. Organisational remit: Research intensive universities (Russell Group) and newer universities. Employer requirements: REF and citations. User issues: evidence informed policy and practice, and yet reforms go ahead without evidence. Attack on researchers: politiking and media.
