Period/costume drama – Downton Abbey The series is set in the fictional Downton Abbey, a Yorkshire country house, the seat of the Earl and Countess of Grantham, and follows the lives of the aristocratic Crawley family and their servants during the reign of King George V. Influenced by Edith Wharton's The Custom of the Country, the first series opens at the end of the Edwardian era in 1912 with news of the family heir's death aboard the Titanic, spanning the two years before the Great War.

Police/crime drama – The Bill The Bill is a British police procedural television series that was broadcast on the ITV network from 16 October 1984 until 31 August 2010. The programme originated from a one-off drama, entitled Woodentop. The programme focused on the lives and work of one shift of police officers, rather than on any particular aspect of police work. The Bill is the longest-running police procedural television series in the United Kingdom, and was among the longest-running of any British television series

Teen drama – Some girl Some girl focuses on four 16 year-old schoolgirls – their lives, loves, and mundane teenager preoccupations, including: school, boyfriends, carers and sex. They live within the same housing estate in South London, and attend the same local school, where they play for the demoralised football team.

Medical/hospital drama – Holby city The everyday lives, professional and personal, of the doctors, nurses and patients who find themselves, for various reasons, in the wards of the frenetic cardiac unit of Holby City General Hospital. They deal with many various medical cases that occur.
