Task: 1)To complete any outstanding assignments in term two to- date (Space Review Quiz & Curved Personalities: Assignment#6) 2)To complete as many winter-based art activities as you can, that demonstrate your understanding of the following learning outcomes: 1.1: Your art work shows that you applied elements of art to the final product (line, color or space) 1.4: You have showed improvement in your art abilities and skills, by increasing the complexity of the final products you choose to complete. 2.2: You have incorporated visual, spatial, temporal concepts in the creation of your art. 2.5: You have worked well and collaboratively with others by sharing and taking care with the art supplies provided. 5.1: You have created a piece of art work that is visibly like the examples, creations shared in class. 3) To complete a sketchbook study and/or free choice sketch that shows improvement and/or applied skills since term one in your sketchbook.

Assessment You will be assessed on classroom observations of how well you complete the learning outcomes related to the activities. You will also be assessed based on your conferences/conservations with your teacher about your art work, to show an understanding of the elements of art and/or concepts completed Lastly…you will be marked on how independent, responsible & organized you are for the next three weeks…starting today!!!

Space Activities Choices & Required Assignments include: Assignment #6: Curved Personalities “Totally Spacey” Handout Dimensional Canvas Art piece – showing depth & the concept of distance and/or space Magazine Dimensional Art piece - (See in-class white board for examples) Positive & Negative Gecko (see in class bulletin board)

Winter Activities Choice #1: Snowflake Puzzle Ornament Needed Supplies: Paint (Tempera/Acrylic) Paint Brush Puzzle Pieces Ribbon Hot Glue Gun & Glue Craft supplies like google eyes, etc… (optional) What you need to know before starting: No snowflake is ever the same…they are all unique Try not to use end/border pieces Plan your design on loose-leaf and/or with the pieces before you begin I would suggest painting all your puzzle pieces before gluing it together and let them dry… you could do a sketch while you wait (remember both sides need to be painted) Be very careful with the hot glue gun and glue the ribbon on a piece from where you would like it to hang

Choice #2: Christmas and/or Winter Themed Magazine collage Needed Supplies: Lots of magazines Scissors and/or hands A Christmas and/or Winter themed picture/outline (copied or drawn) Patience & Imagination What to do: First decide on a theme/object that you would like to do Next using magazines find the colors you need to create and fill in your theme/object. You may more than one page from the magazine to fill it in and you may want to cut the finished product out and glue it on construction paper to really make it stand out, or add a background to it to make it look even better.

Choice #3: Wax & Water Color Winter Scene Needed Supplies: Thick white paper or card stock Wax Crayons (mainly white) Watercolor Paint (Mainly a variety of blues) Paint Brush Water & Paper Towel/Tissue A favorite Winter/Christmas Book See Handout for instructions …
