Hybrids :D Jazmine & Malia
2
PRO'S Hybrids are likely to make use of other technologies, including hydrogen fuel cells and possibly even steam power. Hybrid vehicles have at least two advantages. First, a hybrid’s internal combustion engine is generally much smaller and more fuel-efficient than the engine of a standard car.
3
Con's Cars powered entirely by electricity have to be plugged in to a power source when they are not in use. These cars are limited range- generally about 100miles or so- before the electrical power stored in the car’s batteries is depleted.
4
Source of the Hybrids The source is basically powered by batteries, powers the cars engine. (Plug it in which results in electricity)
5
How Hybrid's Work The hybrid vehicle works by having a gasoline engine, Fuel tank, Electric motor, Generator, Batteries, and a Transmission. While conceivably any two technologies might be used in hybrids vehicles, the most common is to combine a conventional internal combustion engine with an electric motor and batteries that power the car with electricity.
6
Extra Information One hybrid vehicle engine weighs only 124lbs has three cylinders and produces just 67 horse-power 2005 at least fifteen states gave tax credits to hybrid vehicle buyers and thirteen other states were considering doing so.
7
Extra Information o Hybrid manufacturers have other ways to increase the fuel efficiency in their vehicles. They recover energy ans store it in the battery and allow the gasoline-powered engine to shut down when the car is idling.
