MINCHINHAMPTON MARKET HOUSE 1-2 Market Square, Minchinhampton, Stroud GL6 9BW Patron: Sir Richard Eyre CBE Registered Charity No. 207308 Public Consultation Results… 206 returned questionnaires and from these it is clear that Minchinhampton residents/users of the Market House feel strongly about its future and the proposed alterations. The ‘best’ things about the Market House were deemed to be: central location & the visual appeal of it; that the people of Minchinhampton own it and can use it; its history. The ‘worst’ things about the Market House are issues regarding: toilets; people who loiter and drink alcohol in the undercroft; entrance and access.

Glassing-in undercroft - majority of respondents (105 people) in favour (either partially or wholly) in order to make this area a more usable space, while 77 people dislike the idea, although some of these said that partial glassing in might be ok. Modernising toilets - majority of respondents in favour (further debate required about their relocation). Installation of a lift - majority are in favour (more discussion needed around location and cost). Importance of providing a stage – mixed reaction (50:50)
