9. Latitude lines: drawn in an east-west direction and measure the distance north and south of the equator (0-90°) Longitude lines: drawn in a north-south direction and measure the distance east and west of the prime meridian (0-180°)

10. Equator: imaginary line that circles the globe ½ way between the North & South Pole (0°)  therefore, the equator divides the globe into 2: Northern & Southern hemisphere

11. Prime meridian: imaginary line that runs through Greenwich, England from the North Pole to the South Pole (0°)  therefore, the prime meridian divides the globe into 2: Western and Eastern hemispheres
