Informational Writing Session 2 Today, I want to remind you that before a writer writes, the writer often gets full of the kind of writing he or she aims to make. Examples: Poets warm themselves up by reading poetry. Speech writers listen to the Gettysburg Address. Historians use artifacts, official documents, and other evidence as sources to study the past.

Bring to mind what you plan to write Teach others Show what the past was like Group the information Write quotes Write and Introduction and conclusion

Now that you have these tips in mind, look over you notecards With your drafts today only write on one side of the paper Instead of stopping so often and thinking about what you are going to write, try to let the words come to the tip of your pen as you keep writing. Let your pen or pencil go. Don’t spend time erasing-cross out if you need to and move on. Let’s write long and strong.
