2. Elizabeth Bishop She was born February 8,1911 in Worcester, Massachusetts Her Father Died When she was Only 8 months old

3. Elizabeth's Mother soon was committed to a mental asylum….. Elizabeth was then sent to live with her grandparents in Nova Scotia.

4. Elizabeth then got a degree from Vassar college in 1934. The same year her mother died in the asylum the two were never reunited.

5. Elizabeth soon went traveling from 1935 to 1937. France Spain Italy North Africa

6. Elizabeth then settled in Key west, Florida for four years.

7. Elizabeth was most influenced by Marianne Moore her close friend And mentor. Marianne Moore

8. Elizabeth Bishop was awarded the fellowship of the academy of American poets in 1964.

9. Then on October 6,1979 Elizabeth died in Cambridge Massachusetts she was only 68 years old when she died.

10. Elizabeth avoided explicit accounts of her personal life in her poems. In her poems she focused on her impressions of the physical world.
