1
In the 4 th meeting of Comenius multilateral partnership: “Young Mobile Europeans” we worked out and presented existing sterotypes about each country in a creative way.
2
First of all...we spoke about the two definitions……....What is a STEREOTYPE?
3
The word stereotype comes from the process of making metal plates for printing and means “set image”. When applied to people it means an istant or fixed picture of a group of people used to represent all people from that group. Stereotypes deny people the right to be individuals.
4
Instead...what's a PREJUDICE?
5
A frame of mind which tends to pre-judge a person or group without an adequate experience. Frequently the prejudices are not recognised as false or unsound assumptions and can become widely held beliefs which can then be used to justify acts of discrimination.
6
Stereotypes can easily turn into prejudices......because the easiest and unfairest way of judging our fellow-creatures is by adopting prejudices.
7
Before the mixed groups started to work we presented a funny movie cartoon about stereotypes made by Bruno Bozzetto, an Italian famous cartoon animator
8
And now here are some pictures related to our meeting….. Can you recognize any of your friends or teachers?
