Growth of Scheme Increased applications from 951 to 1517 in 2012 + 59% The number of winners in 2012 stands at 1424 + 67% Green Flag Community Award Winners more than doubled from 73 to 175. Increased the number of volunteer judges by more than 250 – to over 800

Developments and Innovation A new group application process for 20 Local Authorities with multiples sites taking part in the scheme New training courses for judges Mystery shopper programme Worked with partners to introduce the scheme to Germany, Australia and New Zealand

Licence DCLG have licenced Keep Britain Tidy to deliver the Scheme in the UK 5 years Keep Britain Tidy to sub licence the scheme to other UK countries International licences will be agreed with a relevant organisation in each country

Licence funding DCLG providing up to 75k of transitional funding in year 1 only Scheme required to be self sufficient from year 2 Corporate support not yet secured

Our challenges Maintain the integrity of the scheme Continue to invest in the development of judges Increase the number of winners Ensure more people have access to quality parks and green spaces

Future funding We have worked hard to keep expenditure at the lowest level possible while ensuring a quality service is maintained Application fees will need to increase for the Green Flag Award The Community Award is required to be free to enter
