How did tennis begin? Everyday people in the world play tennis. In the 1200s, French athletes played jeu de paume - game of the palm. Did you know? There is a thing called Rallying witch is two players hitting the tennis ball back and forth until one scores a point. There are two sides of a tennis match, offensive and defensive. The offensive member had the ball and the defensive member blocks the ball. When some one rotate there body it is called coil. When some one is hitting the ball after it bounces once that is called ground stroke.

Who invented tennis? Major Wingfeild in the British Army is known as the Father of modern Tennis. In 1873 Major Wingfeild invented a game called lawn tennis. A game that men and women can play. A lot of people enjoy the game called Lawn Tennis.

What is tennis? Tennis is a sport. You need a ball, a racket, and a net to play tennis. Tennis is played on a court. The singles court is more narrow then the doubles court.

Glossary Rally: A series of shots played by tennis players until one scores a point. Offensive: Describing an attacking shot to score a point. Defensive: Describing a shot meant to keep an opponent from scoring. Coil: To rotate your body. Ground Stroke: A shot made by hitting the ball after it bounces once
