The Fox and the Hen A thin fox goes to see what he can see. And what he can see is a pen with hens, chicks, and a big duck. "Mmm," thinks the fox. "I will rob that pen. I can catch that fat hen." So he jumps into the pen, grabs the hen, and runs off. The hen thinks, "Can I trick this fox?" The hen calls, "Fox, I am sick. I am not fat. You will not like me." And when the fox yells, "Yes, I will," The quick hen hops up to a branch. "Bad Luck!" she calls down to the fox.

Our Bird Dish, Chapeter 1: Birds in the Sun Our class likes to see birds sitting in the sun, so we got a big flat pan. We hung it with string from a peg. That is our bird dish. We fill it with nuts and bird seed. We add some nuts in shells. Birds come and land on the edge. They peck at the nuts. What birds do we see? Here is a little bird that likes to sing. We call it a finch. It has tan wings and red on its chin and neck and back. And we see black birds.
