5. Fairy Tales  Fairy Tales are stories that tell of miraculous and fantastic happenings..  They usually begin with: Once upon a time…. Or Long, long ago…

6. Characters  The main character in fairy tales often have supernatural powers and can do all sorts of extraordinary things like magic.  Royalty usually plays an important part in the story.  There are talking animals in many fairy tales.

7. Conflict  The conflict in a fairy tale is Good versus Evil.  Good ALWAYS wins!

8. Settings  Fairy Tales can take place anywhere at any time.

9. Fairy Tales always end with: …and they all lived happily ever after!
