3. Shining the Light 2 Cor. 3:15-18 The result of seeing the light is that we become light We must have the character of Christ This character is described in Matt. 5:3-12 Our transformed character effects the world as salt and light Matthew 5:13-16 Do not hide your light!

Sharing the Light Matthew 28:18-20 Jesus has all authority Jesus commands with authority for the disciples to go make disciples of all the nations This is done by teaching and baptism into the name of Father, and the name of the Son, and the name of the Holy Spirit Teaching after baptism Do all Jesus commanded them to do What did Jesus command them to do?

Sharing the Light Romans 10:5-13 Justification by law is by doing the law v.5 Justification by faith is the word in heart and mouth v.8 Believe (word in the heart) and confess (the word in the mouth) unto salvation and righteousness If the word is not in heart, it isn’t saving faith If the word is not in mouth, it isn’t saving faith

6. Sharing the Light Saving faith can’t keep quiet! The Christians did not have to be told to preach Acts 5:41,42; 8:4 Motivation for evangelism 2 Cor. 5:11,14 What doth hinder you? Too afraid? Pray for boldness Acts 4:23-31 Don’t know how? Pray for wisdom Jm 1:5-8 Doubt you can? 2 Cor. 4:7; 1 Cor. 3:6-7

Sharing the Light 1 Cor. 3:6-7 Planting (sowing) = teaching those who never heard Watering = teaching those who have heard 2 Cor. 9:6 Sow sparingly, reap sparingly; sow bountifully, reap bountifully Teach few who never heard before, reap little; teach many who never heard before, reap much Most churches sow little and flood the fields!
