What are Flexible Displays? It’s a display flexible in nature. Different from traditional flat screen displays. Thin, flexible, clear with properties of glass. Flexible & unbreakable & also conserve low battery. More efficient when compared with Smartphones. It’s durable & can be water resistant.
3
Advantages of Flexible Displays They have less weight and thinner. It is improved in its durability. Less prone to cracking during handling. They can lower manufacturing costs It has an indestructible quality. Increase product life & make new designs.
4
Disadvantages of Flexible Displays There may be residual stress from disposition of layers onto flexible substrate. Thermal stress due to different coefficient of thermal expansion of materials in device. External stress from the bending of device. Causes complete breakdown of the device.
5
Why are they made? Flexible screens have the potential to strike the perfect balance; a smart phone that could expand into a large display in your hands, but fold up small to be slipped into your pocket. Tablets that could
6
be rolled up and stuck into a purse or backpack would have an added appeal to magazine readers. The technology’s well on its way. Some companies showed a video that a smartphone was folded into a tablet.
