/ UVDI July, 2006 Proprietary & Confidential Importance of Indoor Air Quality People spend 90% of their time indoors Studies by the EPA show that indoor pollutant levels may be 2 to 5 times higher than outdoor levels The EPA has identified indoor air quality as one of the five most urgent environmental risks to public health today Today’s tighter, better insulated homes can limit natural ventilation and trap airborne contaminants inside The need is even greater for the 15 million Americans with asthma and the additional 35 million with allergies Between 1982 and 1994, asthma rates rose 61% for adults and 72% for children More than 95% of the US general population is concerned about IAQ at home * Source: Chelsea Group, July, 2001

/ UVDI July, 2006 Proprietary & Confidential “If a large number of schools, hospitals, office buildings and residences were modified [with UVGI]… A number of airborne respiratory diseases could be eradicated… …by interrupting the transmission cycle. Reducing the transmission rate sufficiently would…...Halt epidemics in their path.” Dr. Wladyslaw Jan Kowalski, Pennsylvania State University’s Indoor Environment Center

/ UVDI July, 2006 Proprietary & Confidential Florida Hospital System saves $4,867 a year with a UV Lighting system SituationProjectResults Trial performed on 27 year old 6,000 CFM Air Handling Unit. Unit chosen due to very visible build-up of mold with the coil 50% clogged. Installation of UV Lighting fixtures on HVAC Coils. Within 3 months of installation: Static pressure decreased by 1.1 in. wg. Air velocity over the coil more than doubled. All visible evidence of mold or build-up eliminated. Annual savings of $4,867 6-Month Payback Increase in Air Quality What can Altru-V TM do to help me improve patient outcomes AND decrease operating expenses?

/ UVDI July, 2006 Proprietary & Confidential Children’s Hospital in Buffalo reduces microbial load by 6 fold in the first year SituationProjectResults Very high level of microbial counts found in infants within the neonatal intensive care unit. Safety of patients jeopardized as well as that of healthcare workers. Compared the serial bacterial and fungal cultures on HVAC system with tracheal aspirate (TA) from incubated infants. Installed UVGI lamps on Air Handling Units serving the area. After UVGI was installed the total microbial load was decreased by 6 fold over a period of 300 days. “This device significantly reduced microbial contamination in our neonatal intensive care unit, and spared our tiny patients from exposure to main infection causing organisms.”? Dr. Rita Ryan, M.D.

/ UVDI July, 2006 Proprietary & Confidential Henry Mayo Hospital extends the life of their existing HVAC coils SituationProjectResults 25+ year old HVAC installation with original coil modules that had never been cleaned due to lack of access Experiencing very high utility costs for the air chiller system. Significant evidence of corrosion on the evaporator reducing life expectancy. Installation of UV Lighting fixtures on HVAC Coils utilizing track and side load access design features. Measurement of system performance before and after installation. Returned system performance to a ‘like new’ condition. Annual savings of $6,477. Payback of less than 5 months. Extended life of existing coils. Elimination of bio-film build-up on evaporator coils resulting in improved downstream air quality. What can Altru-V TM do to help me improve patient outcomes AND decrease operating expenses?

/ UVDI July, 2006 Proprietary & Confidential The Queen’s Medical Center Honolulu, Hawaii SituationProjectResults The Queen’s Medical Center partnered with Hawaiian Electric Company (HECO) to create a joint project to improve air quality, protect against mold, bacteria and airborne pathogens while improving energy efficiency for the facility. Installation of UV Lighting fixtures on HVAC Coils of the main air handling units. Additional UV lights installed in the ventilation of the common areas of the Queen Emma clinic including the waiting rooms, nursing stations and in some examination and isolation rooms. Staff members and visitors notice that the air is fresher and cleaner – and without the musty odors they had prior to install 100% elimination of annual maintenance associated with cleaning and disinfecting coils 100% design efficiency on coils that had degraded below 70% of their design prior to installation of UVGI What can Altru-V TM do to help me improve patient outcomes AND decrease operating expenses?
