1 Spark the Rise Season 1 case studies IIT Kanpur validated high efficiency, green air conditioning and refrigeration system in vehicles

2 Salient points The technology has been awarded the Gold medal by the Department of Science and Technology; Government of India (DST-Lockheed Martin 2011), innovation hunt program It is a breakthrough in very high-efficiency air Conditioning and refrigeration technology. The technology generates an enormous quantum of sustainable cooling by consuming negligible operational fuel; thus it has negligible associated emissions. The cooling generated is thus green, high efficiency and high quality. Cooling in vehicle is possible without any compressor/Condenser assembly. Involves fewer moving parts in the cold generation and results in a high- durability, dependable, cooling system with much lower chances of breakdown Having developed a "Proof of Concept Prototype" the entrants filed for a Patent in 2006, granted in 2009 The technology has been validated by the The Indian Institute of Technology at Kanpur

3 What are the benefits? The biggest gain is that without burning any fuel and being absolutely green, it provides "Product Cost Recovery" to the end user while providing cooling. Emission benefits as applicable in 100,000 AutoLPG vehicular applications in India alone projects :- Present Innovation applied in vehicles will have emissions reduction Per Hour 30 metric tonnes of Carbon Dioxide and 8 Metric Tonnes of Carbon. Financial benefits for India by adopting this technology: 7900000 tonnes of cooling available from the 3 lakh metric tonnes of AutoLPG annually Consumed in India alone are as follows: –To produce this quantum of cooling it will otherwise consume approximately 7,81,13,527 litres of petrol @ Rs.68/ litres –This fuel saved projects an annual savings of Rs.530 crores –The efficiency of present invention cooling units is apporximately 95 %
