CEOP Child Exploitation and Online Protection CEOP is an agency primarily linked to the police. They are a worldwide agency who work with teachers, social work, parents and wider partners who work with or are involved with children.

Website address for this and other useful sites will be given at the end. Report facility and report button can be attached to social media home page. Report facility will bring up an online form where inappropriate contact/ images etc can be reported immediately. There is also access to a number of online resources.

The Statistics 20% of 8-11 yr olds on social media.
8-11 yr olds make an average of 11 calls per week and send 42 text messages. 20% of 8-11 yr olds have a Facebook profile. This figure leaps to 96% of12-15yr olds with online profiles. Childline has seen a 168% increase in calls related to online issues in the last year.

Parents should be aware that if a profile is updated it can knock off the settings If there is an adult date of birth set for your child’s profile then they will have access to adult content Google – your child’s name, or your own for that matter and look in the images to check that there are no images online that you’re not aware of.
