Honor Cords— 235 honor cords were awarded to graduating Seniors who had earned 24 or more dual credit hours. HB 505- passed this legislative session ◦ May not limit number of dual credit courses or hours in which a student may enroll while in high school ◦ May not limit the number of dual credit courses or hours in which a student may enroll each semester or academic year ◦ May not limit the grade levels at which a high school student may be eligible to enroll in a dual credit course

Attend at least one department meeting per year Submit course syllabus for each course taught Submit SPC Curriculum Vitae (Update as Needed) Verify class roster by deadline Submit final course grades by deadline Submit grade book to Registrar by deadline Provide class instruction Adhere to SPC & departmental policies( including evaluations) Check SPC email on a regular basis

Course syllabus must be in format used by department Course syllabus must be submitted electronically to both the department chairperson (designee) and to Kasey Reyes in Dual Credit Course syllabus must be received by August 25 Course syllabus must reflect the SPC Course Name and correct semester dates.

New instructors need to submit completed form to Kasey Reyes and department chairpersons (designee) Returning instructors need to update Curriculum Vitae as changes occur Vitae must be posted on website Vitae needs to be submitted by August 25 th

Verification occurs after the 12 th class day Instructions will be emailed to preferred email address when ready for verification ACCURACY is most important as this is the official roster of students registered in your class. Verification must be received by the deadline! (September 14 th )

Instructions will be emailed to your preferred email address when received from Registrar Grades must be submitted by the deadline Each student must have both a letter and a numeric grade assigned to them Verification of grade submission will go to your SPC email address Grade changes must be completed within 6 months Grade Books must be submitted at time of grade submissions

Department Chairs will discuss their expectations with department adjuncts Your course must mirror the SPC course Department Chairs will discuss assessment process and requirements with your department Dual credit courses are expected to be conducted with the same rigor as classes on college campus

Dual credit courses are evaluated annually Students must complete the online evaluation instrument during given timeline Course evaluation is a requirement to continue teaching dual credit courses Evaluation results are given to department chairpersons and Deans for their use Vital part of assessment results

Stipends are paid through direct deposit on October 1, November 1, and December 1 for Fall Semesters and Stipends are paid through direct deposit on March 1, April 1, and May 1 for Spring Semesters. Stipends are based on class enrollment on the official 12 class day census each semester in each class using the following enrollment numbers:

ACT—Composite 23, English 19, Math 19 Must earn composite score or can’t use English and Math scores. SAT—Combined 1070, ELA 500 Math 500 Must earn combined score or can’t use ELA and Math scores. STAAR Algebra II EOC—4000 Prior Dual Credit Coursework with a passing grade

TSI-A— Reading 351, Math 350, *Writing 363 with a 4 on Essay or Essay 5 or higher *Must take ELA & Write Placer together on the first test. If students pass one and not the other, they can retest on just ELA or just the Essay.

EOC—Algebra I STAAR—4000 AND passing Algebra II Grade EOC—English II STAAR—Final Phase-In Score (Reading & Writing 4000) Can only be used for the junior year & reestablish compliance as a senior or be exempt.

Apply ◦ Complete ApplyTexas Application for admission at: https://www.ApplyTexas.org (one time only*)https://www.ApplyTexas.org ◦ AFTER 8/18 USE PAPER APPLICATION! * If there is a gap in enrollment of more than 12 mos., students must reapply. ◦ Complete Dual Credit Course Approval Form (Every Semester) ◦ Submit an Official High School Transcript (An updated version is required before each fall) ◦ Submit TSI scores (Usually once unless a student retests in area).

NO DUAL CREDIT REGISTRATION DAY AT REESE CENTER THIS YEAR. Last day to Add/Drop for ITV & Internet Classes August 27 th by 3:00 p.m. Last day to add for High School Campus Classes During late registration is September 4 th by 3:00 p.m. After August 27 th payment must be made at the time you register. If students completed their admissions and dual credit paperwork early—they have been registered by the Dual Credit Office.

Things to Remember about College: SPC & High School Fall Classes Begin AUGUST 24 th ! ◦ PLAN AHEAD (DEADLINES ARE DEADLINES!!). ◦ Allow time for processing of applications and materials. ◦ Cannot register for ITV or online courses after August 27 th. ◦ Last day to register for a high school campus class is Friday September 4 th. ◦ Census Day is September 9 th. All Dual Credit classes become part of students’ permanent record and class rolls should have been previously reviewed for accuracy.
