Inspirations from Art 9 th Lit Honors ELACCL9-10W10: Write routinely over … shorter time frames (a single sitting or a day or two) for a range of tasks, purposes, and audiences.

Many poets are inspired by the beauty of what they see. In fact, sometimes art is considered visual poetry. As you look at the art in the following slides, you will accomplish a variety of tasks inspired by these visuals.

Compose a title for a poem inspired by this art. Use alliteration, and connect to your Mini-Me theme.

Use sound imagery to describe this scene. Repetition, Onomatopoeia, Alliteration, Assonance, Consonance, Rhyme, Rhythm, Dissonance, Cacophony, Euphony, etc.

Imagine that you are the speaker of a poem inspired by this incident. Write the first three lines of your poem. Incorporate internal rhyme. Define the mood of your poem in one sentence.

Choose one: Write a simile that would occur in a poem inspired by this visual. Write a metaphor that compares the yellow figure to something of your choice. Personify this visual.

Write a 5- line poem inspired by this painting by Pablo Picasso. Use assonance and consonance.
