Agenda (1)  Review of Status –SCISAT I ProgramVictor Wehrle  Current Knowledge and Further Needs –FTS/Imager InstrumentChris Boone –MAESTROInstrumentTom McElroy  Test Definitions –FTS/Imager InstrumentKaley Walker –MAESTROInstrumentDenis Dufour SCISAT Test Readiness ReviewJanuary 29, 2003

Agenda (2)  Test Procedure (see Test List) Mike Butler –Temperature Cycle –Bench Tests –Nominal Operation (15 C) –Maximum Operation (30 C) –Minimum Operation (0 C) –Shroud Temperature –Detector Temperature –Contamination Mitigation –Detector Contamination Remediation –Instrument Recovery SCISAT Test Readiness ReviewJanuary 29, 2003

 Equipment Readiness –ICF Jim Drummond –U of T OGSE Denis Dufour –MAESTRO EGSE Ron Irvine –FTS EGSE?  Software Readiness –ICF –U of T OGSE –MAESTRO EGSE –FTS EGSE Agenda (3) SCISAT Test Readiness ReviewJanuary 29, 2003

 Analysis Software Readiness –MAESTROTom McElroy –FTSChris Boone –ImagersDavid Turnbull Agenda (4) SCISAT Test Readiness ReviewJanuary 29, 2003

Contamination Mitigation  Achieve 10 -5 Torr before cooling shroud  Set Detector & Radiator Heaters  Cool Shroud with LN 2  Stabilize Shroud  Cool Detector Target with LN 2  Maintain LN 2 until Detector reaches 130 C  Purge LN 2 and fill with LHe  Perform Detector Temperature Tests  Monitor for Contamination every 12 hours SCISAT Test Readiness ReviewJanuary 29, 2003

Detector Contamination Remediation  Monitor Spectral level at 1500 cm -1 (TBC)  Establish Criterion for maximum loss of signal amplitude, e.g. 40% (TBC)  Assess time cost and benefits from procedure to decontaminate detector –Purge Detector Cold Target –Activate Detector and Detector Radiator Heaters for 24 Hrs (TBC) –Cool Detector Cold Target, as before SCISAT Test Readiness ReviewJanuary 29, 2003

Instrument Recovery  Purge LHe from Detector Cold Plate  Purge LN 2 from Shroud  Pass dry N 2 through Plate and Shroud  Allow temperatures to rise naturally to reach ?? C  Vent tank with dry N 2 CAUTION: Observe Instrument Temperature when N2 purge starts to avoid cooling from lower temoeratures in MLI and Shroud! SCISAT Test Readiness ReviewJanuary 29, 2003

FTS Requirements Material required from Bomem  Unambiguous Time Stamping Procedure  Housekeeping and Status from EGSE  Latest Release of C&DH document  Labview interface between EGSE and UofT system  Level 0 to Level 1 Processing  Transfer functions from Engineering to Command  Commands & Procedure to update Suntracker registers at start of sunscan  “Packing and Handling” & “Safety and Hazards” documents SCISAT Test Readiness ReviewJanuary 29, 2003
