The Professional Development Information System (PDIS) The PDIS is a web-based system supporting professional development for Colorado’s early childhood workforce.

Teaching Practices Child Growth, Development & Learning Child Observation and Assessments Family and Community Partnerships Guidance Health, Safety, & Nutrition Professional Development and Leadership Program Planning and Development EC Competencies Framework: Domains 7 Based on 8 domains with competencies related to social/emotional development, cultural competence and children with special needs are included in all domain areas. Approved by the Early Childhood Leadership Commission in May, 2013.

Components of the Early Childhood Professional Credential (credential levels 1=lowest through 6=highest –level is based on total points earned) Formal EducationProfessional Development (Points awarded for Training Hours/CEUs completed in the last 3 years; extra points awarded courses related to children with high needs, completed as a series, and completed with at least 8 hours of coaching. Points also awarded for specific Licenses, Endorsements, and Certifications that are kept current) Experience (Points awarded for each year worked in the field ) Demonstrated Competencies (Point system to be developed) Degrees (Points awarded for highest degree attained) Areas of Study (Extra points awarded for 6 specific areas of study in degrees earned in the last 25 years) Course-work (Points awarded for each 3 credit college course with grade “C” or above in ECE or courses aligned with competencies) Points
