The USA’s people The graph shows the make up of the USA’s population in 2003. A separate listing for Hispanic is not included because the US Census Bureau considers Hispanic to mean a person of Latin American descent (including persons of Cuban, Mexican, or Puerto Rican origin) living in the US who may be of any race or ethnic group (white, black, Asian, etc.) Write a paragraph describing the population of the USA.

The American people originally came from many countries all over the world. But WHY ? The American Dream No land No food Opportunities Religious freedom Freedom No jobs Education No freedom of religion Plenty of land No political freedom No money Political freedom New life Wealth War Put these reasons into two lists one for PUSH factors (reasons to leave their home country) and one for PULL factors (reasons to go to the recipient country)

Textbook Now collect a copy of USA and read pages 4 and 5. Copy the title The USA and the American People and what you will learn. Now answer activities 2-7.
