3 EPISTAXIS (NOSEBLEED)  Student should sit with head up and lean forward to avoid drainage into the throat  Have student apply firm but gentle pressure over the bleeding nostril for up to 10 min.  Apply a cold compress  Notify parent or guardian if bleeding lasts longer than 15 min.

11 EDUCATIONAL CONSIDERATION Students should be excused from school during the acute phase Students with allergic conjunctivitis should not be excused All children should be reminded to wash there hands regularly
