3 More About Digital Citizenship  Digital Citizenship is taught to students when they are asked to use computers and other technologies. This teaches students how to use them productively and safely.  As citizens, we have rights and freedoms but we must be aware of the dangers and responsibilities that go along with technology use.  “A person’s writing, photos, or graphic designs, when posted online, are subject to copyright protection” (textbook). This means you may not download copyrightable items or take other people’s work and use it as your own.

4 Digital Citizenship in Schools  Digital Citizenship is now an important part of school curriculum.  Teachers are required to teach their students about correct and appropriate technology use.  One of the main topics that teachers must cover is plagiarism and how to correctly cite sources.  It is important that teachers stay positive when teaching students how to be responsible
