More About Digital Citizenship Digital Citizenship is taught to students when they are asked to use computers and other technologies. This teaches students how to use them productively and safely. As citizens, we have rights and freedoms but we must be aware of the dangers and responsibilities that go along with technology use. “A person’s writing, photos, or graphic designs, when posted online, are subject to copyright protection” (textbook). This means you may not download copyrightable items or take other people’s work and use it as your own.

Digital Citizenship in Schools Digital Citizenship is now an important part of school curriculum. Teachers are required to teach their students about correct and appropriate technology use. One of the main topics that teachers must cover is plagiarism and how to correctly cite sources. It is important that teachers stay positive when teaching students how to be responsible
