Program Changes Program prefixes changed and changing Be sure to check both program area and VCOM area Programs ending – Applied Visual Art and Electronic Publishing Why? Streamlines programs to focus on Photography, Graphic Design and Web Multimedia – currents students will graduate Most 2 credit courses changing to 3 credits Why? Eases transfer to other colleges including four year

Program Prefix Changes New this school year New prefixes on programs/course names Photography – PHOT Graphic Design – GRDT Web Multimedia – WEBD First year students can follow the program plan Use iDARs and semester breakout sheets Second year students will need to plan carefully iDARs report will not indicate new courses Advisors will know which old course is equal to what new course Sometimes petitions will be needed

Individual Advising Due to number of changes, all “returning” students need to meet with assigned advisor to: Identify courses that still need to be offered but aren’t scheduled Plan student schedule to accommodate spring or fall only courses Ensure proper mapping and substitution of needed courses Get your Access code for registration! Application for graduation?

Prepare for Individual Advising Prepare your iDARs (Interactive Degree Audit Report) Check for accuracy, check catalog year See advisor - Are they listed on the iDARS? Do you have a declared major or more than one? Review courses needed Review your program course requirements printout www.DCTC.edu shows only this years catalog requirements

Registration Students with 30 or more credits completed at start of this semester can register on Monday, Oct 12 Less than 30 can register on Wed, Oct 14. Registration opens at 7 am
