Master planning Master Planning is a strategic process that develops a medium to long-term view of how an area can be developed to meet future needs. The process considers: – the strategic requirements of the developer (goals, performance requirements, return on investment) – the current and future needs of the community (to meet demand, be good neighbours, be sustainable, be agreeable with authorities, to promote the common good, etc.) Masterplanning promotes the development of a concept plan that enables design and construction of facilities, infrastructure and areas to best meet these identified needs.
