2 Producer: The person responsible for resource management of a stage production

3 Producer:  Secures rehearsal and performance space  Finds financial backing for a production  Finalizes contracts  Assembles creative team

4 Director: the person who guides the artistic production of a show; responsible for artistic vision

5 Director:  Responsible for the artistic vision of the show  Runs rehearsals  Stages the production  Maintains creative control of artistic aspects of a production  Casts actors

6 Designer: Person who composes the aesthetic plan of a production in at least one area: scenic, lighting, sound, costumes, and make up, properties.

7 Designer:  Places directors ideas into a concrete plan that can be realized  Can specialize in one or more of the following categories: Set, Costume, Lighting, Sound, Make up, Props

8 Technical Director: the person responsible for executing the designs of a stage production executing the designs

9 Technical Director:  Implements the designs  Makes sure that designs are all successfully carried out  Organizes the construction of the scenery  Assembles all crew heads

10 Dramaturg:  Does production-based research for the director  Maintains the style and period of a production  Assembles educational materials (essays, displays, program inserts, study guides) for the audience

11 Stage Manager:  He/She takes over the responsibility of running a production once it opens  Calls cues for various areas during performances  Is intimately familiar with the ins and outs of both the performances and technical areas of a production  Maintains communication between light and sound operators and crew members during a performance

13 Running (production) Crew:  Provides the “muscle” for scenery during a performance  Follows commands of a S. M. during performance

14 House Manager:  Responsible for the lobby looking beautiful  Organizes an usher schedule  Oversees front of house preparations before show  Opens the house

15 Usher:  Seats people in the correct seats Hands out programs  Asks patrons to silence a cell phone if it rings during a performance  Gets to see a performance for free

17 Actor:  Memorizes lines  Takes a bow  Learn blocking  Analyzes a character’s purpose, intention, and objective
