Career Advancement Program An exciting and rewarding career awaits all youth when they participate in the Career Advancement Programme (CAP), a youth career development initiative developed by the Ministry of Education and its agency HEART Trust NTA. Providing career opportunities for youth is very important as the structure of the global marketplace is changing, and young people with limited career education will have relatively fewer employment opportunities than their educated counterparts. The Career Advancement Programme (CAP) is the Ministry of Education’s commitment to improving access to quality education in Jamaica for all students. Programme offering Menu The IIRQ Career Advancement Programme (CAP) will provide youth (ages 16-19) with a two year Government Sponsored (free) education and training that helps them to get a career for life, earn their career certification, find and keep a good job. IIRQ programme features an Apprenticeship, hands on training for students. Interested Candidates may obtain Registration form from the Kingston or Montego Bay office or by email: Application form will not be accepted without the following documents: 1.Two (2) Certified passport size photographs certified by any of the following persons JP, Minister of Religion, Lawyer, Principal, Doctor or Superintendent of Police,. 2. Copy of Birth Certificate (the white hand written version are not accepted) 3.Copy of CSEC or CAPE results ( if applicable). 4. Copy of TRN 5.Two written Recommendation letters from any two (2) of the following persons; JP, Minister of Religion, Lawyer, Principal, Doctor or Superintendent of Police, past or present employer. What to expect STEP 1: All CAP applicants are expected to sit a Maths and English entry examination to determine their level of literacy and numeracy skills. This test will also determined the level of Maths and English the Candidate is place in if Accepted to be apart of the programme. STEP 2: Upon the student completing the DT they should be informed that they will receive a callback to attend an interview. STEP 3: Candidates will be informed after the interview whether or not they will be accepted to be apart of the programme. STEP 4: Successful candidates are expected to comply with all academic rules and regulations including wearing the correct uniform, and maintain a 100% attendance record.
