Supreme Court The Supreme Court stands a short distance from Parliament Hill, it is a reminder that, while the judiciary is a branch of Canada's government, it is completely independent from the legislative and executive branches of government.

Court Building The Supreme Court Building was designed by Ernest Cormier. At the entrance to the building are two fluted, metallic, torch-like pillars with clusters of lighting brackets at the top.

Grand Entrance Hall Two bronze doors give access to an impressive grand entrance hall, measuring 32 by 17 meters, and 12 meters in height. At each end of the Grand Entrance Hall is a courtroom used by the Federal Court of Canada

Judges' Gallery The Judges' Gallery houses an exhibition of photographs of former and current judges, some of the photographs dating back to the creation of the Supreme Court of Canada in 1875.

Main Courtroom The Main Courtroom, reserved for the use of the Supreme Court. The courtroom, measuring 12 by 16 meters.

Judges' Conference Room The Judges meet to discuss cases in the Judges' Conference Room which is directly behind the courtroom.

Judges' Reading Room Above the doors and bookshelves around the Judges’ Reading Room, one can see the coats of arms of every Canadian province and territory.

Chief Justice's Office Contains an electric clock designed by Ernest Cormier. A large window give a spectacular view of the Parliament buildings.
