To be a Supreme Court Judge you must…… ◦ There are no written qualifications to be a member of the supreme court. ‘hold office during good behavior’- U.S. constitution ◦ Can be impeached and removed Salary cannot be reduced while in office.

1.Attorney General & DoJ identify and screen candidates 1.Sitting judges give their opinions 2.ABA ‘s Standing Committee gives their opinions however, presidents do not let them formally screen candidates. 2.DoJ & FBI do background checks 3.President announces his nomination.& it begins……..*%@%&(*( 4.Senate Judiciary Committee holds hearings to judge their worthiness a)Personal integrity b)Solid legal record c)Display temperament and reasoning during confirmation hearings
