2.  Motion is the action or process of moving or changing place or position.  Acceleration is the change in velocity divided by the time it takes for the change to occur.  Acceleration has direction. The acceleration is in the direction that the object is moving.  Acceleration occurs whenever an object speeds up, slows down, or changes direction.

3.  When you think of acceleration, you probably think of something speeding up. However, an object that is slowing down also is accelerating.  If the acceleration is in the same direction as the velocity, the speed increases and the acceleration is positive.  If the speed decreases, the acceleration is in the opposite direction from the velocity, and the acceleration is negative.

4.  A change in velocity can be either a change in how fast something is moving or a change in the direction of movement.  Any time a moving object changes direction, its velocity changes and it is accelerating.

6.  When a car moves faster and faster its speed is increasing.  When a car moves slower its speed is decreasing,  When a car changes direction its velocity changes too.
