PARTICIPATION Part of their participation grade will be from out recycling program The following will be required per trimester: 20 boxtops, or 10 ink cartridges, or 5 cell phones or IPODs, or 200 cans or bottles (recycle receipts) or a combination of these OR two 300-word handwritten summaries of current event science articles taken from newspapers or magazines

5. Homework will be assigned on a regular basis. Even if a homework assignment has not been given, time should be spent each night reviewing the work of the day and the past week,organizing notes, and preparing for the next day.

6. I do not offer extra credit, other than on tests. Final grades will be based on the following percentages: 100 - 99A+77 - 79C+ 93 - 98A73 - 76C 90 - 92A-70 - 72C- 87 - 89B+67 - 69D+ 83 - 86B63 - 66D 80 - 82B-60 - 62D- 59 - 0 F NO EXTRA CREDIT

7. Donations: Thank you so much for those of you who have sent monetary donations, supplies, and items to our recycling program. The Science Department will gladly accept small monetary donations to help with the purchase of lab consumables (e.g., vinegar, distilled water, toothpicks, soil, etc.). In the past we have asked for $5.00 per family. This will enable us to continue our hands-on program. Students are encouraged to bring in items to share as we cover the various subjects. Occasional donation request lists will come home throughout the year.

Have students do homework before social time/ computer time Encourage study sessions Check day planner for important dates Take an interest E-mail/Call me with questions and/or concerns Library is open Mon. & Wed. until 5:00pm and Tues. & Thurs. until 9pm for computer and study use.
