Adult Life Group Announcements for 10-10-10

Marriage Matters All married adults need to mark your calendars on Friday, November 12, to be with couples from our community for a Battle of the Sexes with interactive improv by, Comedy Sportz, focusing on celebrating the differences between husbands and wives in marriage. The “battle” kicks off at 7pm in the Family Life Center auditorium so be ready for some fun.

True North Outfitters Capt. Brett Radabaugh, “of Cattales Guide Service” http://www.lakeconroefishingguides.com/CatTales/catta les.html, will join us on October 21st at 7pm to talk about catfishing on Lake Conroe. He has all sorts of techniques from rod and reel to jug lines and all kinds of baits. Be in FL102 to hear his techniques and things he looks for to catch ‘em at Conroe. Fall Festival Make plans now for this year’s Fall Festival Extreme, to be held on Sunday, October 31 from 5-8pm. We will have food vendors, rides and inflatables for kids of all ages as well as the return of “Trunk or Treat”! Beginning in October, you can sign up at one of the Atrium booths or in your Life Group class to bring your “Trunk” to this night of fun. If you would like to donate some “Treats” for this community outreach event, we will be collecting bags of individually- wrapped candy in specially marked boxes located throughout the building. Additional information about how you can help with this year’s Fall Festival Extreme will be available in your Life Group class!

Coordinator Training We will begin a Life Group coordinator training on 10/17. All of you coordinators be there and if there is someone in the wings helping in another role this may be a way for them to take the next step.

Parent Ministry Got kids? Want effective, Christian parenting techniqes? You’ll want to attend the Parent Ministry’s new fall classes, meeting through October 24th, at 9:30 and 11:00am. Topics include: preparing your child for salvation & baptism, teaching financial responsibility, the latest in peer pressure, and much more. Voter Info & Prayer Guides Stop by the booth in the lobby to pick up a non-partisan guide for prayer and voter information.

Men’s Prayer Breakfast Men of all ages come and join Pastor David Fleming, every Friday morning at 6:30 in room FL-102, for a great time of food, fellowship and prayer. We pray for our families, our friends, our church and our nation and world. Cost is $4.00 for breakfast. Cheerleading & Basketball Upward Basketball and Cheerleading is for boys and girls grades kindergarten through 6th grade. The 2010/2011 season will kick off on November 29th! Registration is going on now through November 7th. Early registration cost is $85 until October 24th. Afterwards, registration cost goes up to $95. Gifts for our Military The Military Ministry is collecting items to send as Christmas gifts to our CFBC men and women stationed in Iraq and Afghanistan. A suggested items list is available in your Life Group room, at the Military Booth and online at www.Championforest.org. Please drop off your items for our heroes at the Military Ministry Booth.

Care Net Wednesday, Oct. 13th, Come help assemble “Mommy Bags” for the new moms at Care Net Pregnancy Center. We will also work in the maternity closet, etc. The church bus will leave CFBC at 10:15am and will return by 1:30pm with lunch on the way back.
