Charles Darwin By Noah Alkhulaifi 7E

Charles Darwin was an English naturalist and was born on the 12 th February 1809. He died on 19 th April 1882.

Contribution #1:Natural Selection Darwin created a detailed theory on how and why humans and animals evolved it there current form. The general meaning is that species of animals in a certain environment need certain tools for that said environment and the animals of each specie’s with those tools ( eg….Type of teeth, trunk, extra fur ) survive and reproduce and over the thousands of years develop those tools throughout the species.

On his voyage Beagle he visited The Galapagos Islands and discovered that some species there had some differences to there mainland counter parts because they were isolated and needed slightly different tools to survive.

Effect #1 This proven theory helped create a linkage between animals in different environments and how they are related. It also helped people find missing pieces of animal timelines.

Contribution#2 He created the theory of evolution which is the development of species throughout million of years to another species due to adaptation and other contributing factors in an environment. An example is early monkeys to humans. However, in some cases the original species remains intact as with monkeys and apes who are still extant.

An example of partial, incomplete or unfinished evolution is Lucy, who was found in The Rift Valley, Kenya and is believed to be an early human.

Effect#2 The evolution theory helped people understand why monkeys, apes and chimpanzees have so many resemblances and helped biologists understand how many species came to be today. ss
