Rationale The threat Philippines is the third most vulnerable country to climate change in the world Environmental stress (such as pollution of water, air, soil; deforestation) erodes the very basis of economic development The opportunity Green Economic Development is a driver for competitiveness, innovation, new markets, jobs inclusive growth and poverty reduction

Project Background Project objective: To enhance the competitiveness of enterprises through the adoption of climate smart and environment friendly technologies Three year project (until December 2015) to be implemented with DTI – Pilot in the tourism sector in Bohol and Cebu – Upscaling outside of the Visayas in year 2

Areas of Intervention More MSMEs acquire information on the require- ments and possibilities to access green finance Information and awareness on GED Green service facilitation and match making Green framework conditions Awareness on the benefits of “greening” Information on services and suppliers of technology Access to financing to support implementation
