Background on Santa Clara County, CA and the Network for Healthy California's Communities of Excellence in Nutrition, Physical Activity and Obesity Prevention (CX 3 )

In Santa Clara County, mapping has been completed in four neighborhoods: San Jose – Washington, University, Five Wounds/Brookwood Terrace South County – East Gilroy Three new neighborhoods two in San Jose and one in north county (Mountain View) are in process of completion. CX 3 Neighborhoods

Benefits and Value of Participating in CX 3 The maps and surveys provide hard evidence to support what we may know intuitively about the relationship between food access, marketing and media, and poverty in the community. Opened door to other opportunities and enhanced partnerships. Engage local residents in advancing community change to the built environment.
