7. Outreach #2 – UK Engineering Day Re-cap Congratulations on another successful event! Room was packed the entire time Handed out 300+ passports Was on Feb 28 from 9:00-1:00 Held in conjunction with SHPE with a space theme Moon phases How satellites are put into orbit How NASA got a satellite to Saturn Anti-gravity water (using surface tension) Build a rocket Pictures from Innovate

8. Outreach #3 – Youth Science Summit Kentucky Science Center event to be held on Lexmark’s campus, Saturday June 27 Tentatively will have 2 girls tracks – middle and high school SWE is asked to provide an hour-long session for each of these tracks Volunteers Needed Plan the activities Facilitate the day of the event Plan to apply for grant – must submit by May 1

9. Outreach #4 – Outreach Metric Tool www.surveymonkey.com/s/omtool Region G has the 3 rd highest number of events posted – let’s take over 2 nd place! Any event that you volunteer for can be logged – science fair judging, career nights, etc. It doesn’t have to be organized by SWE. We are region G, number 006

SWENext - Description Designed for girls aged 17 and under This unique program provides young girls, parents and educators with the tools they need to increase their understanding of the engineering field. 12. SWENext - Benefits Up-to-date information about outreach events (camps, competitions, etc.) hosted by SWE and its partners. A catalog of available scholarships for engineering school offered by SWE and partner organizations. Best practices on applying for scholarships and internships. Eligible to participate in a quarterly webinars, where engineers from various disciplines discuss the work that they do. Resources for families and educators that can help effectively promote a career in engineering to your daughter and/or female engineering students. A SWENext council where girls can influence the direction of this program...and much more.

13. SWE Rebranding – Position Statement “The Society of Women Engineers (SWE) is the world’s largest advocate and catalyst for change for women in engineering and technology. To ensure SWE members reach their full potential as engineers and leaders, the Society offers unique opportunities to network, provides professional development and shapes public policy. SWE champions the value of diversity and inspires girls to become engineers in order to expand the engineering profession’s ability to improve the quality of life for billions of people worldwide.”

14. Current Logo Issues with the old logo: not progressive, colors are hard to reproduce, and when the logo is small on name tags it is hard to read.

15. Proposed Logo – HAS NOT YET BEEN APPROVED Looking for feedback. Voting to take place in April Advantages: colors are easy to reproduce and show power, logo is progressive, logo is more adaptive to sections, logo can be made very small and still be understood, logo can be made all white or all black.

Information collected: what aspects of region conference appeal to them, demographic, and travel information. Seeking input from all types of members!

19. Scholarship Judges Needed SWE gave out a record $700,000 in scholarships to over 230 students in 2014. SWE Scholarships have garnered national attention due to our breadth and commitment to advancing women engineers through financial support of their education. As such, the SWE Scholarship Program has been featured on Last Week Tonight with John Oliver and in Time Magazine.
