Applying for HEA Fellowship What you need to submit for the Swansea Application Route

What is the Swansea Application Route? The SAR aims to support and enable: Recognition of the contribution of teachers, aligned to the UK PSF A high quality learning, teaching and assessment experience for all students Creativity, innovation and continuing professional development in learning, teaching and assessment for all staff engaged in delivering programmes at all categories, and those supporting learning Evidence of professionalism and excellence in academic practice

Reflective Element (Written Route) Fellows and Senior Fellows Reflective Account 6 sections, each with word limit of 500 words +/- 10%. Total word limit 3000 words +/- 10%. Introduction plus sections on each of the 5 Areas of Activity as outlined in the UK PSF. Reflective Element – Associate Fellows Reflective Account 3 sections, each with word limit of 500 words +/- 10%. Total word limit 1500 words +/- 10%. Introduction plus choose 2 of the 5 Areas of Activity as outlined in the UK PSF. Case Studies – Senior Fellows Case Studies 2 Case Studies, each with minimum word limit of 1000 words, maximum of 1500 words. Total word limit across both 3000 words +/- 10%. Reflective Element (Presentation Route) all categories of Fellowship Areas of Activity, Core Knowledge, Professional Values Listing A brief listing against each of the elements of the Dimensions of the UK PSF of the applicant’s experience. (i.e. A1-A4, K1-K6 and V1-V4). Presentation Information All categories of Fellowship Presentation Summary Back to Fellowship Back to Senior Fellowship Next part of application Presentation delivery A brief description of what your presentation will cover and how you will be delivering it. Application Process Associate Fellows – 20 minute presentation Fellows – 30 minute presentation Senior Fellows – 40 minute presentation Followed by questions. Administrative Elements References You need to submit at least 2 references. At least one must hold the category of Fellowship you seek or higher. References should be made with explicit consideration to the applicant’s experience as outlined in the UK PSF. Seek Support and Guidance Introduction You can download a Word version of the application form to help with your writing, but we will only accept applications submitted through the Pebble+ application platform. You MUST attend an Information session before being given access to the Pebble+ application. Further support on using Pebble+ is available on the SALT site, at information/drop in sessions or by contacting the SALT team. Go on a writing retreat if you need it. Start putting your application together on-line. Identify and advise your referees of your intention. Discuss with your line manager. 2. When do you accept applications? Once you’ve got access to the online application in Pebble+, you can start working on your application. What materials do you need to submit? 1 Your completed application form (using Pebble+ template) 4 Two completed references All of this is submitted through Pebble+. 3 Sign-off from your Line Manager 2 Relevant evidence in support of your application
