1. Research Performance Progress Reports (RPPR) & MyNCBI

By now you know the story… The new Federal standard Research Performance Progress Report (RPPR) electronic form is replacing SNAP (Streamlined Noncompeting Award Process) form for most NIH’s non-competing awards. Applies to Progress Report submitted for SNAP and Fellowship Awards with budget period start dates on or after July 1, 2013. Guide notice NOT-OD-13-035.NOT-OD-13-035

RPPR utilizes MyNCBI to load publications into the Progress Reports MyNCBI is an online portal from the National Library of Medicine for users to maintain and manage their authored works. eRA Commons began using this system to guarantee compliance with the NIH Public Access Policy in 2010. Guide notice NOT-OD-12-160 states NIH will delay processing of non-competing continuation grant awards if publications arising from that award are not in compliance with the NIH public access policy. This change will take effect in tandem with NIH requiring the use of the Research Performance Progress Report (RPPRs) for all Streamlined Non-competing Award Process (SNAP) and Fellowship awards in the Spring of 2013.NOT-OD-12-160

4. What does this mean to you? An additional RPPR class has been added to the SPA spring class offerings.
