Market Update | Global Growth & Interest Rates On Wednesday, government-bond yields saw their largest decline in more than 5 years – 10-year Treasury yield fell as low as 1.873% – Lowest level in intraday trading since May 2013 – $777 bn worth of Treasury bonds changed hands by 2PM Highest level for the time period in at least a decade – Global growth fears IMF revised expectations that global economy will grow by 3.8% next year, down from July forecast of 4% Mainly due to European concerns specifically in Germany, France and Italy 38% chance that Europe will re-enter a recession in the next 6 months – Why did the 10-year Treasury Yield go down so much? – Do you think global growth issues are affecting the U.S.? – Do you think our economy is growing or stagnating?
