5. 1 st Person Point of View Main character tells the story using the pronoun ‘I’. Pro: gives the reader a sense of hearing from an eye witness directly Con: narrator can’t reveal everything, such as the thoughts of other characters

6. 2 nd Person Point of View Narrator uses words like “You,” “Yours,” “Yourself” Narrator is often talking to themselves VERY RARE!

7. 3 rd Person Point of View Narrator uses words like “He,” “She” and “They” Two Types: Third person omniscient Third person limited

8. 3 rd Person Omniscient Narrator is God-like; can describe the thoughts and feelings of ALL characters Pro: narrator knows all Con: often makes the reader feel removed from the characters and action
