SOLUTION: OOHO! THE EDIBLE WATER BOTTLE Taking place as one of the twelve winners at the 2014 Lexus Design Awards,developers Rodrigo Garcia Gonzalez, Pierre Pasalier, and Guillaume Couche from Skipping Rocks Lab created the “Ooho! The Ooho! is a blob-like sack of water made of biodegradable ingredients making it more friendly to the environment than the alternative, plastic water bottles Wow Factor: the Ooho!’s blob container is edible!

HOW IT’S MADE The Ooho is made of an originally frozen sphere of ice that is coated in a gel consisting of a compound of sodium alginate from brown algae and calcium chloride.

IMPLEMENTATION The creators of Ooho received a grant from the European Union in order to expand on the product and begin distribution. They can also be made at home with new DIY recipes for edible water bottles coming out every day.
